About bizdaycalc

bizdaycalc is built to make practical date calculations faster, clearer, and easier to trust.

Built by John Heitzer

IT professional who needed better date tools at work and decided to share them.

John Heitzer, creator of bizdaycalc

John Heitzer has spent over 15 years in IT operations, project management, and service delivery roles across the public and private sectors in the UK. Working with SLA-driven teams, he saw first-hand how easily a miscounted deadline could snowball into missed targets, client friction, and unnecessary escalations.

John built bizdaycalc to solve the same problem he kept hitting: counting working days accurately across weekends, bank holidays, and different UK regions. What started as a quick internal tool became something he wanted to share with others dealing with the same frustrations.

When he is not maintaining the site, John works as an IT operations lead, manages service delivery dashboards, and helps teams improve their SLA compliance. He created bizdaycalc in his own time and continues to develop it based on real feedback from users in customer service, logistics, finance, and complaint handling roles.

What this site is for

Free tools that help with everyday date-based workflows.

bizdaycalc focuses on straightforward tools that solve everyday date problems without making users fight a spreadsheet first.

The current tools include a Business Day Calculator for counting working days between dates and a Complaint Deadline Tracker for reviewing fixed complaint-handling milestones.

The aim is simple: practical outputs, clean screens, and tools that are useful immediately.

What makes the site useful

The focus is on helpful tools, not filler pages.

Practical use first

Each tool is built around a real task, such as counting business days accurately or checking important deadlines more clearly.

Clear outputs

The site favours readable summaries, calendars, and export-friendly workflows so users can act on the result rather than interpret it from scratch.

Ongoing improvement

bizdaycalc is intended to grow over time with more useful date-based tools and better workflow support pages.

Who it is for

Useful for professionals, teams, and anyone dealing with deadlines.

Work and planning

Count working days, check timelines, and plan around weekends and public holidays.

Complaint handling teams

Track acknowledgement, update, and final response deadlines with clearer visibility of the next action due.

General users

Use the calculators for planning, checking timelines, or reducing manual date-counting errors.

Important notes

Helpful context about how to use the tools.

These tools are provided for general informational purposes. They are designed to help with practical calculations, but users should always review results in the context of their own needs and circumstances.

Where public holidays are involved, calculations depend on the holiday set and options chosen inside the tool.

We aim to keep the site helpful, lightweight, and easy to use, and will continue improving the toolset over time.

Site pages

Useful trust and support pages for visitors.
